Job Description
Best UK Car Insurance is seeking a talented Freelance WordPress Theme Developer to help enhance and customise our WordPress site for performance, SEO, and user experience. You’ll work closely with our content and design team to implement responsive layouts, improve loading times, and optimise for modern browsers and devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customise WordPress themes (from scratch or based on existing templates)
• Ensure mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility
• Integrate SEO best practices into theme code
• Optimise theme performance (speed, core web vitals, etc.)
• Collaborate with team to implement UI/UX improvements
• Provide documentation for handover and future updates

Requirements

• Proven experience in WordPress theme development
• Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with responsive frameworks like Bootstrap
• Familiarity with SEO-friendly theme structures
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Bonus Points

• Experience with Gutenberg blocks and FSE (Full Site Editing)
• Familiarity with car insurance or finance-related content
• UK-based or knowledgeable about UK audiences
