Project Description:
We are looking for a highly experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to troubleshoot and resolve replication errors in our MySQL setup. Our database environment relies heavily on replication for high availability and disaster recovery, and ensuring its smooth operation is critical for our business.

Scope of Work:

  1. Identify and Diagnose Errors:

    • Analyze the current replication setup.
    • Review error logs and pinpoint the root causes of replication issues (e.g., broken replication links, missing or corrupted data, GTID conflicts).
  2. Fix Replication Errors:

    • Implement the necessary fixes to restore replication functionality.
    • Test the replication setup thoroughly to ensure stability and accuracy.
  3. Optimize Replication Performance:

    • Suggest and implement improvements for the replication setup, if necessary.
    • Optimize server configurations to enhance replication performance and reliability.
  4. Documentation and Handover:

    • Document all changes made, including commands used and configurations updated.
    • Provide guidance on monitoring and maintaining replication in the future.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a MySQL DBA with expertise in replication.
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL replication types (asynchronous, semi-synchronous, and GTID-based).
  • Familiarity with MySQL versions 5.7 and above.
  • Experience with large-scale database environments and handling high-availability setups.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.

Deliverables:

  • Fully functioning MySQL replication setup without errors.
  • Documentation detailing the fixes applied and recommendations for long-term maintenance.

Timeline:
The project needs to be completed within 1 week of assignment.

Budget:

Hourly rate $10-$15/hr
